The videos in this segment are dedicated to the memory of a dear departed friend and fellow high diver. Randy had a long and wonderful career as a professional high diver.
He competed in the World Record Challenge event on three occasions at the 168', 170' and 172' levels. He won the event at 168' in 1981. He also made an unsuccessful attempt to set a new world record of 175' in Hong Kong China in 1985 (refer to Dene Whitaker's video).
He was actively involved with World Wide Aquatics, a water show production company based in the Far East. There he worked with some of his closest friends and fellow divers; Micky Barnett, Dene Whitaker, Chip Humphrey, Jeff Kucera, Dan Anthony.
It's not that we're picking on our good friend who is no longer here to defend himself, but he did leave behind some incredible stories, a few of which are heartfelt and touching, others that are simply hilarious.
These are just a few excerpts and some wonderful stories that serve as our salute to this tremendous athlete and person. When it's all said and done, you simply have to admire a man who died doing what he truly loved to do...perform. Randy Dickison...gone but not forgotten.
